Abstract

The chassis dynamometer is designed and manufactured from the actual research on motorcycles in Vietnam. The component consists of two rollers supporting and bearing the load from the transmission wheel of the motorcycle. The functions include: measuring vehicle speed, determining engine power, determining effective fuel consumption. The chassis dynamometer is equipped with a volumetric reference tank, a wheel speed sensor, a load carrier consisting of a DC generator, and an adjustable resistive load to determine the required parameters. These parameters are rendered by computer software in graphs and tables in real-time. Dimension can be moved easily; the features are suitable for research. The test shows that the test bench is easy to install and operate, the test results are satisfactory. This research result contributes to diversifying the supply of experimental equipment, meeting the requirements in research on testing motorcycle engines following the actual conditions in Vietnam
